The Gravity School has been delivering race specific coaching camps in Portugal for over 4 years. Newly opened in 2025, the Gravity School Racing Centre had a very successful first year and delivered a number of coaching and racing camps. Further developments are taking place to add to the overall rider experience, including the addition of an outdoor sauna, hot tub and chill out area with BBQ and pizza oven.
The Racing Centre operates as a specific training and testing facility for downhill mountain biking. It is the perfect off-season and pre-season venue for athletes to hone their skills for racing, and also for manufacturers to test their products. If a riding holiday with the guys, hitting laps in the park, drinking beers and hanging out, is more your flavour, the venue is also a fantastic place to visit for a normal riding holiday, which we will be offering for the first time in 2026.
The Racing Centre provides accommodation with 7 bedrooms for athletes and staff, a professional workshop, and is located adjacent to the uplift shuttle route used to access the various training tracks in the newly opened Fenix Bike Park, and is close to the city of Agueda in Central Portugal. The nearest international airport is Porto, less than 1 hours transfer away.
Fenix Bike Park has a 300m vertical drop with the trails averaging 2km in length. The bike park zone is over 380 hectares, allowing for multiple trails as the park expands in the coming years under the management of Mark McClure at Trailtools. Working with Trailtools we are constantly adding new trails and additional features during our winter build season, with athletes able to give direct feedback to the trail crew. This unique situation allows us to add specific track features to meet training, testing and filming needs as required. The shuttle uplift service to travel from the bottom to the top of the track takes less than 10 minutes. We also use Lousa and Tarouca as additional riding venues, both approximately 1 hours drive away.
The Racing Centre will play host to all of the Gravity School Race Coaching Camps in 2026, as well as a number of manufacturer testing sessions.
